French Christmas Poster: a collaborative activity
This French Christmas poster project is the perfect way to celebrate the spirit of the holidays.
Students will strengthen their sense of collaboration and community because they’ll work together towards the same goal: putting together a poster, or bulletin board.
Each student gets a square to color according to a code.
Each piece by itself doesn’t mean anything, but once all the pieces are assembled, kids can see how all the squares they colored fit together.

The coloring task is fairly simple–this is not a resource to challenge kids on their coloring skills.
The point of this resource is for them to work together.

I recommend a post-task activity, i.e. a follow-up discussion.
After assembling the pieces and revealing what the end image is, you should encourage your students to discuss what makes for a “joyeux Noël”, why celebrate Christmas, and so on.
